Lottie’s Story
This weekend I was speaking with a woman named Lottie. I wanted to share her story with you. It was pretty neat and inspiring:
She and her husband had gone to Florida for the winter. She battles allergies and so the environment there doesn’t bode well for her. She had been complaining about it and was praying about it one night and the Lord told her that is she stopped whining she could stay.
She told me “Whining? I didn’t even know I was whining!”
The next morning she woke up and opened the front door and the most homely looking dog she had ever seen was in front of it. Big, long, droopy ears. A tail that dragged on the ground behind it, and eyes that were yellow. Oh, and the fur wasn’t in the best shape either. Her husband saw the dog and instinctively went to the refridgerator and got some food for the dog. After that morning it continued to come and they continued to feed it.
After a few days Lottie noticed that her allergies weren’t bothering her anymore! She also noticed the cats who had been jumping on her sister’s wheel-chair outside on a daily basis hadn’t been there since the dog showed up! She made the connection – the dog was chasing the cats away!
The dog continued to come daily. The last day it came to be fed just happened to be the day before they left to return home! Amazing! She stopped whining, so God took care of her allergies in his own creative way!
As a side note: Her story reminded me of how God commanded the animals to go to the ark. Ever notice that in your bibles? The story you are told growing up is Noah got the animals and put them on the Ark. No – God told them to go and they went, two by two!
